Teaching Effectiveness and Work Performance of General Education Instructors in a Higher Education Institution in the Philippines

Nowadays, many people can be a teacher, but the question, if an effective teacher. As such, this study was conducted to assess general education instructors’ teaching effectiveness and work performance in higher institution of Zamboanga del Sur, Mindanao, Philippines. Thirty-two part-time instructors 194 students were selected as participants study. Descriptive survey used with questionnaire-checklist data collection tool. The results revealed that similarities existed on students’ assessments terms commitment along accomplishment work, courtesy, readiness for service. Differences also occurred knowledge subject, independent learning, management cleanliness orderliness area, grooming appearance. Furthermore, imply effectively enhanced by revisiting teacher curricula make them responsive changing demands society, re-evaluating hiring selection processes highlight competencies required conducting trainings seminars regularly professional growth advancement, continuous monitoring obtain comprehensive view performance.
